Happy 4th of July!

Sorry I haven’t updated this week. I worked a lot at the hospital, and well have just been kind of exhausted. I haven’t been sleeping well. I blame part of it on flipping from day to night shifts, but honestly its because it’s July. My mom’s birthday, my dad’s birthday and their anniversary all are in July. Actually they are the 12, 13, and 14. So instead of a week of celebrating it’s a week of sadness. I hate being sad for my Dad’s birthday, but missing my mom is something I seem to unconsciously start when July comes around.

So the grateful for the week. We had a great day at the lake on Sunday with our 4-H club. As my friend said, its so wonderful to have our kids growing up together. Something to be said for small rural towns, everyone knows everyone. So I didn’t leave and my kids are literally growing up with the kids of the people we were friends with growing up. I know and trust these people so I can just enjoy and let them run free. I managed to get a little cleaning done around the house. We also went to the movies with friends on Thursday. Like sat in a movie theater, ate popcorn, and candy and enjoyed a movie! We went out to lunch after and it was like the old normal. Lastly the week finished up with my oldest and I doing the local fireworks 5K. We walked it but had fun and definitely didn’t come in last so that’s a plus! lol I then volunteered at the softball league’s bingo booth.

Today is the parade that the 4-H club has a float in and throwing out candy. Then we will head back into town tonight for the fireworks display that I’ll be watching with my best friend of 38 years (yup, we are second cousins and have literally been together our entire lives). She did however move out of our small town, it did always drive her nuts living here. I don’t get to see her as much as I’d like to, but we talk multiple times a week. Tomorrow I’m probably working to get the last of my required holiday hours in for the year.

ENJOY your holiday weekend!! 🙂
